
The fire station was the first civic building to be constructed in this small North Florida town. The facility is conceived as a multi-purpose structure which not only houses the fire station but also serves as a community center and town meeting hall.
Given the modest budget available for the project, the structure became common gray split faced concrete block with accents of red block. For security, all windows are glass block. The roofing is low slope metal.
The tower housing the hose drying area anchors the composition.
